OFFICIAL DEALER
Albers Marine, located in Arma, KS, is a prominent, family-owned full-service marine dealership and service center located in Arma, Kansas. For four decades, the business has grown from a small local hobby shop into a highly decorated regional hub for boating and fishing enthusiasts.
Founding and Early Roots (1986)
The company was founded in 1986 by Homer Albers. Originally, Homer opened the doors as a personal hobby, operating under a simple philosophy rooted in customer service: “You treat everyone with respect and the customer’s always right.” However, the demand for quality marine services in southeast Kansas caused the business to grow much faster than he initially anticipated. His daughter, Rose Ann, was part of the operation from the very beginning.
Second Generation Transition (1996)
Tragedy struck the family business in January 1996 when Homer Albers became ill and passed away. Following his passing, Rose Ann and her husband, Bill Smith, took over ownership and operations to preserve her father’s legacy. Under their leadership, Albers Marine continued to expand its footprint, maintaining its reputation as a community-oriented, customer-first dealership.
Modern Era and Continued Growth
Following Bill’s passing in 2014, Glenn Smith stepped up to partner with Rose Ann in managing the daily operations, keeping the business firmly within the family.
Over the last twenty years, Albers Marine has significantly expanded its catalog and service capabilities:
- Authorized Dealership: It established itself as a premier dealer for major boat lines, including Tracker, Sun Tracker, Nitro, and Tahoe.
- Mercury Marine Partnership: The shop grew into a leading regional Mercury dealer, backed by certified technicians. Its high service standards earned the business the prestigious 2024 Mercury Marine Service Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) Award with a score of 94 or higher.
Retail Expansion: Beyond boats and structural maintenance, they integrated full-scale retail offerings, carrying extensive catfishing, crappie, and bass gear from brands like Bass Pro, Zoom, and War Eagle.
Today, Albers Marine operates from its equipped facility on Highway 69 in Arma, handling everything from specialized boat repairs and winterization to lake service calls. For more detailed information on their inventory or to contact their service team, you can visit the official
